Day
01. ARRIVE COLOMBOArrive at Colombo airport, where our
representative will meet and assist you. He will then escort you to your
hotel.
This day is free for you to explore the town on your own
or just relax at the hotel.

Day 02. COLOMBO - KITHULGALA - NUWARA ELIYA (115
MILES) This morning after the breakfast, proceed to Kithulgala.
Enjoy the white water rafting on the rapids of
Kelaniya River.
Later proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Upon arrival, start the tour of Nuwara Eliya,
visiting the town,
market place,
golf course, the hill club
and
Lake Gregory.
Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 03. NUWARA ELIYA - HORTON PLAINS - NUWARA ELIYAEarly
this morning, you will proceed for an excursion to Horton Plains with packed
breakfast. Horton Plains is a strict nature reserve, the highest plateau in
Sri Lanka. Nature lovers love this wide, Patna-grass covered plain, the
haunt of several wild yet harmless animals and the home for many species of
birds. 'Bride' path through the plains will take you to the precipice,
popularly referred to as World's End, a sheer drop of 1050mts. The view is
magnificent on a clear day.
Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 04. NUWARA ELIYA - ELLA (38 MILES) This
morning after breakfast, leave for Ella. On arrival in Ella, visit the
Grand
Ella Motel and view the Ella Gap from its front garden. The terrain
falls away some 3000ft to the south coastal plain. Framed by towering Ella
Rock on the right and a wooded ridge on the left, the spectacle of Ella Gap
is one that invites visitors to laze and gaze.
Rest of the day is
free for you to relax.

Day 05. IN ELLAAfter breakfast visit the
Ravana waterfalls and
Ravana Caves.
This day you could also take some jungle treks,
bird watching tours, cycling tours from your hotel.

Day 06. ELLA - YALA
(84 MILES) After breakfast proceed to Yala.
In the
afternoon enjoy a jeep safari to Yala National Park. Yala is located in the
south-eastern corner of the Island. The terrain is varied, flat plains
alternating with rocky outcrops. The vegetation ranges from open parkland to
dense jungle, a must for any wildlife enthusiast. The most common sightings
are that of Elephants, Deer, Wild boar and Sambhar.

Day 07. YALA -
UDAWALEWA - RATNAPURA (122 MILES) This morning after an early
breakfast proceed to Udawalewa for a
safari at Udawalewa National Park.
This 30,821 hectares dry zone game park was declared as a protected national
park in 1972 and is world famous for its elephants, seen in all their
playfulness - whole herds of them, adults and babies - bathing and playing
in the water or feeding. Deer species such as spotted deer, Sambhar, barking
deer and langur, along with wild boar; water buffalo, jackal and leopard are
some of the prominent wild animals found in this park. "
Udawalewa"
is one of the best parks for bird watching too. The endemic species of bird
called Red Faced Malkoha has its favourite habitat in this 192 sq. km
parkland. Serpent Eagles, Hawk Eagles, White Bellied Sea Eagles, Black
Eagles, Black Capped Bulbuls, Racket Tailed Drongos, Malabar Pied Horn
Bills, White Necked Storks, Open Bills, Ibis and Shama are other bird
species here. The forest Nightingale, Stork Billed King Fishers and Peacocks
are found in fair numbers here.
After the safari proceed to
Ratnapura.

Day 08. RATNAPURA - SINGARAJAH - RATNAPURA (100 MILES) This morning
after breakfast take an excursion to
Singarajah rain forest. This
rain forest is a primeval forest for scientific exploration, relaxation and
meditation. Singarajah was declared a world heritage site in 1989. It covers
11,187 hectares of Sri Lankan lowland rainforest. The most striking
characteristics of the forest are the loftiness of the dominant trees, the
straightness of their bole, the abundance of regeneration and the diversity
of species. Out of 25 plants endemic to Sri Lanka, 13 are represented in
Singarajah and of the 340 woody species recorded in Singarajah, 192 are
endemic to Sri Lanka. There is a high degree of endemism among the
butterflies, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. 95% of the
endemic birds of Sri Lanka have been recorded in Singarajah.

Day 09. RATNAPURA
- COLOMBO (66 MILES) After an early breakfast on this day, proceed
to Colombo.
Once in Colombo, drive through the commercial area and
the city centre, known as the 'Fort', built by the Portuguese in the 16th
century. See the busy markets and bazaars of Pettah, visit a
Buddhist
and a
Hindu temple, an
Old Dutch church and continue to the
Cinnamon Gardens residential area. Drive past the Town Hall,
Independence Square and the
International Convention Center.
Stay overnight in Colombo.
Day 10. LEAVE
COLOMBO After breakfast, proceed to the airport to connect to your
flight for onward destination.
